Mechanical galvanizing

This refined metal-finishing technique produces extremely thin protective layers of 3 to 85 microns. As this is a cold procedure, Thielco uses this technology particularly for small products which are sensitive to heat, such as hardened products, steel springs, m8 bolts, nuts, mounting rings and wire nails.

The zinc layer is applied in a rotating drum. This results in a smooth layer exhibiting excellent adhesion. An advantage of this technology is that no hydrogen brittleness occurs, so unnecessary breakage is prevented. Besides zinc, other metal layers can be applied, such as tin, copper and aluminium.

The products can be treated afterwards with a layer of oil and/or a chromate layer to reduce the friction coefficient.

Our quality meets the ISO 12683 and ASTM-B 695 standards. Thielco also works according to client-specific quality requirements.
